FairyLoot Unboxing | Dragons | December 2018

Spoilers for the December box! Proceed with caution!

Spoilers for the December box! Proceed with caution!

FairyLoot is a monthly subscription box that includes 5-6 exclusive bookish goodies and a new YA fantasy book (hardcover!), somtimes signed, with sprayed pages or with an exclusive cover.

This was my third FairyLoot box and I can honestly say that this was the best one yet.

Spoilers for the December box! Proceed with caution!

The first item is a Reading Journal! It is the second reading journal that was ever included in a FairyLoot box and it is of course dragon themed. It’s only for January to July, but FairyLoot says there will be another one for the second half of the year.

I’ve never had a reading journal before, so let’s see if this is something i like.

The next item is a Pin Flag! Now you can display your enamel pins, badges and even iron-on patches.

I’ve actually seen this on bookstagram and it’s a really cool idea. Unfortunately I don’t have any enamel pins… except for one, I think, and it’s actually from a former FairyLoot box.

The next item is a Glow in the Dark Dragon Necklace. It’s nickel free and its wings glow in the dark.

Ok y’all, this is so cool. I lost my shit when I saw it, and I didn’t even know that it could glow in the dark at that point. Love this.

The next item is a Book Sleeve! It’s inspired by the scene in Harry Potter where Harry, Ron and Hermione escape Gringotts on a dragon.

I gotta be honest. This was an important factor that made me buy this box. I keep seeing book sleeves everywhere and I’ve wanted one since laying my eyes on one. I don’t like taking my books anywhere because I’m afraid they’ll get damaged but now I can!

Next item and also a big reason for buying this: an ARC of The Storm Crow by Kalyn Josephson! Yeah, you read right. This book won’t actually be released until July 2019 but we got it early! This also means that this box includes 2 books.

I kept seeing this book everywhere and now I have it! I may have screeched when I saw it…

Update: You can read my review for The Storm Crow here.

20181226_130945-e1545832073982.jpgFun fact: when I first saw this cover, I thought this was a new book in the Six of Crows series and that this girl was Inej…

According to the Spoiler Card, the next item should be the exclusive Mother of Dragons Magnetic Bookmark Set. Unfortunately, it was not in my box. I’ve heard that this was the case for a lot of people, but FairyLoot is doing its best to send the bookmarks out as soon as possible. I’ll keep you updated on that!

Next we have an exclusive Double-Sided Print that features Abraxos from Throne of Glass and Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon.

I haven’t read a single Throne of Glass book, so I wouldn’t even know who that was without the Spoiler Card, but I’m so excited to see Toothless! Love these movies. Toothless is the cutest.

This is the first month that FairyLoot is including their exclusive trading cards drawn in tarot style. These are characters from A Court of Thorns and Roses, which I wouldn’t know if FairyLoot hadn’t told us. So yeah, I haven’t read these books and don’t know these characters, but the cards look great.

And now, the featured book of the month: Fire and Heist by Sarah Beth Durst! This edition is even signed! Also, there is exclusive character art by Taratjah on the back of the author letter.

I haven’t seen this book before but it sounds great! I mean, were-dragons?? How cool is that.

This was an amazing box and I can only recommend trying out FairyLoot. Have you ever bought a bookish subscription box? Did you like it?
